David has spent the past 36 years working with high-growth companies and entrepreneurs in industries, including technology, software, life sciences, consumer products, and others, to help them develop and execute their growth strategies.
As an audit partner with Ernst & Young, he worked with more than 25 companies on their IPOs, including Vivint, Energy Solutions, Ancestry.com, Skullcandy, Omniture, Control4, and others. He also advised numerous other companies on public securities offerings, registration statements, mergers and acquisitions, roll-ups, and other unique transactions.
David served as EY’s Office Managing Partner (OMP) in Salt Lake City for 10 years, during which time EY dominated the Utah market. During this period, EY advised on or audited every Utah-based IPO.
In 2013, David relocated to Silicon Valley, where, as the West Region Managing Partner of Markets, he was responsible for driving EY’s go-to-market strategy in the Western US across all industries and EY’s service offerings. From EY’s San Jose office, he oversaw more than 4,000 high-performing professionals who served clients across the West region, from start-ups to the largest global brands.
After 4 years leading the West Region for EY, David relocated to New York City and became EY’s Growth Markets Leader. In that role, David was responsible for setting up the overall strategic direction of EY’s Growth Markets practice, a cross-service line network of professionals that advise entrepreneurial, high-growth companies headquartered in the Americas. In this role, he was also responsible for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Program throughout the Americas. After retiring from EY in 2023, David joined Domo, a publicly traded software company in Utah, as the CFO. Domo’s technology allows companies to connect all their data, organize it, store it, and visualize it to make more informed business decisions. As CFO, he was responsible for all the company’s accounting/finance functions and for helping to drive Domo’s corporate strategy. In 2025, David stepped down as the CFO and currently serves on Domo’s board of directors.
David also serves on the advisory boards for the Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and the Woodbury School of Business at Utah Valley University.
